2010 – 2011 Marshall Net Impact Board
President – Molly Larson
Before attending Marshall, Molly worked for the City of Malibu for five years. Her responsibilities included managing all staff, independent contractors, and programming at the City’s two largest facilities. Prior to her position with the City of Malibu, Molly attended UCLA, where she majored in Physiological Science. For the summer of 2010, Molly interned with Chrysalis, a non-profit organization with locations in Downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Pacoima. Her responsibilities included auditing current purchases, making cost-saving recommendations, and rewriting curriculum for safety orientation training.
Co-VP Social Enterprise – Vince Lazalde
With a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy and Global Communication from USC, Vince is a proud double Trojan. He followed his undergraduate studies with four years on staff to multiple political campaigns at the local, state, and national level. As a fundraising consultant, Vince primarily worked with California Attorney General Bill Lockyer, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to create and execute successful development campaigns focused around Southern California. As an MBA student, Vince holds dual fellowships from the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management and from the Society in Business Lab. In addition to serving on the Marshall Net Impact Board, he currently serves on the Board of the USC Challenge for Charity as the Non-Profit Director for Junior Achievement.
Co-VP Social Enterprise – Jesse Goldberg
After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Tufts University, Jesse began his career on the Massachusetts State Senate campaign trail, running field operations and developing voter turnout strategies. Jesse transitioned into the nonprofit sector, working with Year Up, a top workforce development program. As Grants Manager, he raised over $4M in foundation funding, developed corporate partnerships, and designed the strategic plan that helped grow Year Up’s New York City operation from serving 50 students to 200 students annually. Jesse has experience teaching in the classroom and was a mentor to disconnected young adults transitioning to full-time employment and higher education. As a full-time MBA student, Jesse has consulted with a variety of nonprofit organizations.
Co-VP Sustainability – Scott Peattie
Co-VP Sustainability – Robert Campbell
Robert, a Texas native, graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelors in Marketing. Previous to USC, Robert worked as a Project Manager with Interlink Capital Strategies specializing in financial consulting and project development for companies within the alternative energy arena. At Interlink he marketed several alternative energy projects (geothermal, wind, solar, biodiesel, etc) to government and private lenders securing over $168 million in financing commitments.
This summer Robert interned at Edison Mission Energy, the non-utility power development/operation side of Edison International. Robert worked with the environmental compliance team and focused on two main projects. The first was producing a pollutant offset strategy to allow the construction of a critical high efficiency natural gas peaker plant. The second focused bringing all of Mission Energy’s 17 current wind power plants up to complete legal and environmental compliance.
VP External Communications – Gabe Tse
Prior to attending business school, Gabe worked as an mechanical engineer and marketing coordinator for a custom solar equipment manufacturer and a R&D think-tank. Gabe interned at Southern California Edison this summer developing a long term development strategy for Smart Grid technologies and implementation. He is currently involved in a research project for the APEC Business Assessment Council (ABAC) to facilitate the trade of Environmental Goods and Services (EGS) between economies in the Asia Pacific Rim region. Gabe is interested in all things involving renewable energies and smart grid technologies.
VP External Relations – Amy Endemann
Prior to Marshall, Amy worked in advertising in New York and San Diego. This summer, she interned at Nestle on their strategic innovation team in Beverage. Amy is interested in building authentic, sustainable brands and using marketing power to change consumer behavior on a large scale.
VP Internal – Jenny Mak
Jenny worked at Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group in San Francisco as a Corporate Financial Reporting Manager for two years before attending Marshall. During her time at Kimpton, she was involved in the EarthCare program – an initiative that promotes and develops sustainable practices to be carried out throughout the corporate office and all Kimpton hotels. Prior to Kimpton I worked at Deloitte & Touche in the audit department for 3 years. During the summer of 2010, Jenny was an Acquisitions and Asset Management intern at a San Jose real estate investment firm.
Director of Corporate Social Responsibility – May Huang
Prior to attending business school, May spent four years in finance litigation consulting focusing on securities fraud. Her experiences with the litigation cases prompted her to return to business school to find opportunities to work for companies that focused on good business fundamentals as well as on sustainability, charitable returns to the community, and other CSR initiatives. Her internship this summer was with Darden Restaurants.
