Events

Marshall Net Impact’s mission is to improve the world by growing and strengthening a network of new leaders who are using the power of business to make a positive social, environmental, and economic impact. During the 2009 – 2010 school year, Marshall Net Impact is making efforts to collaborate with various organizations on the USC campus to provide the community with opportunities to learn about and make a positive impact.

Throughout the year we will engage in:

Speaker Series

Throughout the year, MNI invites representatives from various organizations ranging from Fortune 100 companies to local non-profits to speak about how to integrate socially responsible practices into their businesses. The speaker series provides students with an opportunity to interact with professionals and learn how companies can overcome business challenges in both a profitable and responsible manner.

Social Mixers

The Los Angeles Professional Chapter of Net Impact regularly hosts social mixers and events to give MNI members the opportunity to network and meet other like-minded students and business professionals. MNI will also be hosting joint mixers with the professional and local student chapters in Los Angeles. For more information on the LA Professional Chapter and to subscribe to its newsletter, please email LosAngeles@NetImpact.org.

National Net Impact Conference

Every November, Net Impact hosts the largest gathering of graduate business students and young professionals in the world at The Net Impact National Conference. This conference takes place in Fall to coincide with the new school year, and is designed to help attendees expand their vision of the possible as they set their course through the world of business. The conference will be hosted by the Johnson School at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York from November 13-14, 2009. For more information, visit: 2009 Net Impact North America Conference.

Case Competitions

MNI competes against other top-ranked universities in case competitions. Many of the challenges brought forth in the case competitions are real-life problems that companies face in regards to how stakeholders can be served in a socially responsible manner. The purpose of these case competitions is to obtain a different perspective and potential solutions for these complex issues from student teams. Case competitions that MNI has participated in the past include the Thunderbird Social Responsibility and Ethics Challenge and the Leeds School of Business Net Impact Case Competition held in Boulder, Colorado.
